Members support the activities of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), including taking active part in the promotion of patriotic, civic and charitable projects. The Colorado and Wyoming Department of the DUV was organized in 1905. Mero L. Tanner Tent No. 4 of Colorado Springs was organized in 1906. It appears Tent No. 4 closed in the late 1980s.
