Louis Depeyre was born in Lyon, France in 1867. He became a U. S. citizen in 1892, received his medical education at the University of Colorado and did post graduate work in Lyon. He and his wife Anastasia (Annie) moved to Colorado Springs sometime around 1906. By 1910, Dr. Depeyre had home and office in the 1600 block of Colorado Avenue. Here he established in 1923, along with Jesse B. Gavin and E. F. Seiler, the Colorado Springs Electropathic Institute, "devoted to the treatment of disease by the application of light, electricity, x-ray, violet rays, ultraviolet rays and electronics."
Dr. Louis Depeyre died in Colorado Springs in December of 1928. Annie, who was born in New York in 1861, remained in Colorado Springs until her death in November of 1935.
