History

The first ride of the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad, then called the Manitou and Pikes Peak Railway, was on June 30, 1891. Since that time the world's highest cog railway has been transporting people to the 14,110 foot summit. In 1991 the railway celebrated its 100th anniversary.
