Henry Augustus Buchtel was one of the University of Denver's most distinguished chancellors. He served as Chancellor from 1899 to 1920, a time of growth and prosperity for the University. Byron Cohn and Essie White Cohn maintained a long-standing connection with the University of Denver. They met while attending the University in the early 1920s, and both received undergraduate and masters degrees from the University. They married in 1926 while they were working on their Ph.D.s from the University of Chicago as well as teaching at the University of Denver. The Fashion Bar, a retail women's clothing store in Denver Colorado, originated with a small hosiery shop founded by Jack Levy in 1933 and managed by his sister Hannah Levy. Born in the town of Haigerloch, near Stuttgart in Southern Germany, both Hannah, Jack and another brother emigrated to America in the 1920s. Jack had started as a traveling salesman and Hannah as a shop girl in Neusteter's Department Store, located in Denver, before opening their own store. Their store became the Fashion Bar Corporation

Leopold H. Guldman (1853-1936) founded the Golden Eagle Dry Goods Company of Denver in 1879, eight years after his arrival from his native Germany. He was one of Colorado's pioneer merchants and philanthropists. By the late 1870s he had come to the Colorado mountains in search of silver, but found it more profitable to open the Golden Eagle Clothing stores in Leadville and Cripple Creek, Colorado. The Independent Order of B'nai B'rith Lodge 171, Denver, Colorado, was the primary Jewish philanthropic and social service organization in Denver from 1872 through World War II. Howard Jenkins, Jr. (1915-2003) was the first African American to be appointed to the National Labor Relations Board. He was appointed in 1963 and served on the NLRB for 20 years. Dr. Abraham J. Kauvar, M.D. (1915-2003) served as head of Health and Hospitals for Denver, Colorado from 1974-1980, and also in New York City from 1980-1981. The A. J.
