This collection is comprised of the records collected by Mr. Frank C. Abbott while doing research for his book "Auraria Higher Education Center: How It Came To Be". This book on the planning, development and construction of the Auraria campus in downtown Denver was published in 1999 by the Aurari Higher Education Center.

This collection is comprised of material donated to the Auraria Library by the Melvin Whitsett Carter estate though the auspices of the Community College of Denver Foundation. Carter was a long time Art faculty member at CCD. He was a well known local artist, as well as an educator. He was recognized for his landscape paintings and his pen and ink figure sketches. The collection contains numerous sketchbooks, photograph albums and sketchbooks.

Samuel Menin is a Denver attorney who spent his lifetime in legal practice. Mr. Menin has been particularly active in cases relating to civil liberties and constitutional law. Presently this collection consists of scrapbooks documenting many of Mr. Menin's cases.

Minoru Yasui is a prominent member of the Denver Japanese-American community who has long been active in community service. The Richard Fleck collection contains material relating to Fleck's book, Critical Perspectives on Native American Fiction. Published by Three Continents Press in 1993, the book is a collection of essays about six Native American novelists. The majority of the collection consists of the galley proofs and the original manuscript.
