Biography / HistoryHarrison School District #2 was established on August 20, 1874, two years before Colorado became a state and three years before Colorado Springs was founded. The student population for the district is currently over 11,000. The Multicultural Curriculum Guide was developed by the Bilingual Multicultural Education Staff for grades K-6. The purpose of this guide was to “provide cultural information which reflects the ethnic population of the Harrison School District.” This guide was meant to serve as a teaching tool that could be integrated in the daily curriculum of classrooms.
