History of King Brothers Company

The King Brothers Company was founded in 1892 in Albany County, Wyoming, by brothers Francis S., Herbert J., and Joseph S. King. The Kings specialized in breeding and raising purebred and registered Corriedale and Rambouillet sheep and won numerous prizes and honors for their wool.

Arrangement of the Collection

The King Brothers Company records have been minimally processed and divided into four series.

Scope and Content

The King Brothers Company records contain company financial records (1914-1950); printed materials concerning King Brothers Company and the sheep industry (1909-1959); photographs of King Brothers Company ranch and sheep (circa 1890s-1940s); and ribbons and medals won for their sheep and wool (1908-1950).
