Col. Norman D. King was an aficionado of western and Wyoming history. He collected newspaper clippings, articles, reports and publications about historical people and events.
This collection is organized into six series: I. Addresses and Articles; II. Publications; III. Records; IV. Maps; V. Subject Files, and VI. Medals and Ribbons. Topics and records within one series may also be found in another. Subsequently, researchers should consult cross-reference the major series - Addresses and Articles, Publications and Subject Files - for complementary records.
Much of the collection is comprised of newspaper articles original and transcribed about Wyoming's pioneers and territorial past, and Federal Writers' Project reports. Of special interest are records about the Oregon Trail and the Oregon Trail Memorial Association, writings and addresses of Robert Spurrier Ellison, activities of Daniel Greenburg, articles about William H. Jackson, minutes of the Cheyenne Board of Trade, and files on the Custer Battlefield, including correspondence about the 50th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
The collection is open for research.
Limited duplication of print materials allowed for research purposes. User is responsible for all copyright compliance.
