The collection is divided into six series including: Administrative Records, Archives and Records Management Division, Historic Sites, Historical Divison, Museums Divison, and Historic Preservation
Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department records ranging form correspondence, to administrative and financial records. Some of the files include proposed building records, Wyoming Territorial Prison Corporation files, monuments and markers, and historic site folders.
Access to some personnel related files may be restricted. Otherwise, there are no known access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
