Eduardo Chávez served as secretary and treasurer for the Alianza Federal. He was a
resident of Atrisco, a community in southwest Albuquerque, New Mexico. As a follower of
Reies Lopez Tijerina and living in the Atrisco land grant area, he was a witness to land
grant disputes and struggles.
The collection contains photos, Spanish and English newspaper articles, manuscripts,
reports, photocopies of senate bills, newsletters, publications, maps, and ephemera
related to Chávez' involvement with the Alianza Federal and the Chicano movement
throughout the U.S. southwest. The material is roughly arranged into photos, manuscript,
and oversized material. The photos have item numbers.
The collection is open for research.
