Scope and Content

The records of the Bloom Cattle Company date from 1872-1912. Additional materials concern James Sutherland and W. E. Anderson, who were involved in cattle operations for the Bloom Cattle Company and the Anderson Cattle Company.

The bulk of the collection consists of financial records. These include journals, ledgers, daybooks, bank statements, canceled checks, bills and receipts, cattle and corn tallies, and deposit books.

Correspondence consists primarily of letters received by James Sutherland, manager of New Mexico operations, from the Bloom Cattle Company headquarters in Colorado.
