Arrangement of the CollectionThe collection is divided into four series including: Administrative Records, Airport Records, Accident Reports, and Civil Aeronautics Board Records. Scope and ContentWyoming State Aeronautics Commission supports aviation and publicly owned airports in the state. Archived records include administrative records such as general correspondence, minutes, manuals, mster plans, project files, reports and studies, inventories and accident reports. RestrictionsAccess RestrictionsAcceess to airpport facility and building plans is restricted. Otherwise, there are no known access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public. Series II. Airport Records, 1938-1990Files concerning Wyoming airports, including cartographic records, movie film, surveys, project files, reports and studies
Series III. Accident Reports, 1959-1975Reports of airplane accidents. Information includes the date, time, location, and the origin and destination of the flight. Also, the names of the pilot and passengers, injuries, and/or fatalities, weather conditions, and a description of the aircraft. Attachments to the initial report may include photographs, correspondence, medical report, witness report, statement of pilot, investigatory report, and newspaper clippings.
Series IV. Civil Aeronautics Board Records, 1947-1987Correspondence, newspaper clippings, and CAB dockets and filings pertaining to route changes and discontinuation of service. Listing of airports in Wyoming, noting location, ownership (public, private or military) and proposed improvements. Survey of airport locations, service and facilities. Maps of Wyoming and charts of airport projects according to standards and objectives of National Airport Plan. And summaries of public meetings in Wyoming on the 1948 National Airport Plan
