The Adelante Club joined them one month later. The first convention was held in Albuquerque in May 1924, with 26 delegates from 6 clubs. From the beginning, the group was active in various aspects of civic life, including helping to establish the State Tuberculosis Institute. The Turquoise is their quarterly publication.
