The New Mexico Federation of Business & Professional Women's Clubs was established in May 1923 when the Albuquerque Business and Professional Women's Club and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Sante Fe met together and drafted a constitution. The Adelante Club joined them one month later. The first convention was held in Albuquerque in May 1924, with 26 delegates from 6 clubs. From the beginning, the group was active in various aspects of civic life, including helping to establish the State Tuberculosis Institute. The Turquoise is their quarterly publication.
The collection contains mainly published material including a Handbook of Policy and Procedures and Constitution and By-laws, convention programs, newsletters, and quarterly magazines and yearbooks from the New Mexico Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, the Albuquerque Business and Professional Women's Club, the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of New Mexico, and the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, West Central Region from 1933-1971.
The collection is open for research.
