Biography of Franklin E. Adams

Franklin E. Adams traveled overland with his wife and son from St. Louis, Missouri to Fresno, California in 1865.


Scope and Content

The Franklin E. Adams papers contain correspondence by and about Adams (1858), photographs (ca.1860s), his original diary regarding his overland journey from St. Louis, Missouri to Fresno California in 1865, notebooks listing expenses along the way to California (1865), obituaries of his relatives in California (1893-1929), and a photocopy of an article by Walter Edens "The Overland Trail Diary of Franklin E. Adams: Upward Bound in 1865". Collection also contains four typescript copies of the diary.
