Gabriela Maria Adalid was a Mexican ballet dancer and actress. She was the daughter of Mexican diplomats and became famous in Mexico when she founded the dance group Ballet Maya around 1964 at the age of 17. Adalid, who performed as Gabriela Zac-Bé and Gabriela Farah, traveled the country performing ancient Mayan dances, spoke 10 languages (including ancient Mayan), and appeared on television shows and movies in Mexico and Australia during the 1960s and 1970s.
