Biography of Rollin H. Abernethy

Rollin H. Abernethy was a University of Wyoming administrator and professor of crop physiology in the College of Agriculture, Department of Plant Sciences. He received his B.S. and M.S. from Kansas State University in 1970. Later, he completed his PhD in agronomy and plant physiology at the University of Arizona in 1974. He began teaching at the University of Wyoming in 1978, where he was a professor of crop physiology (1978-2011), Associate Dean of Agriculture (1992-1999), and the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs from 1999 until his retirement in 2011. He was also Vice President of the Wyoming P-16 Education Council, later renamed the Wyoming Education Coordinating Council, an organization focused on pre-K to grade 20 STEM education initiatives.

Scope and Content

Collection contains meeting minutes, notes, reports, printed material, correspondence, and financial documents related to Abernethy’s tenure on the Wyoming P-16 Education Council, Wyoming SEA-52, Hathaway Scholarship, and other Wyoming education issues he was involved in.
